問：「續佛光明，晝可滅不？」答：「不得。若滅犯墮。雖云佛無明闇，施者得福故。滅有罪。」

Question: "May lamps that continue the Buddha's light be extinguished during the day?" Answer: "They may not. If extinguished, it incurs a pāyattika. Although it is said that the Buddha has neither light nor darkness, because the donor obtains merit, extinguishing it entails an offense."
