問：「比丘度人，不知本末後度，知是佛奴而不發遣。犯何事？」答：「知而度犯重。若先不知，知便發遣。若不發遣，犯重。」問：「其人是大道不？」答：「非。」

Question: "If a bhikṣu ordains someone without knowing his background, and after ordaining him discovers that he is a slave of the Buddha, yet does not dismiss him, what offense is committed?" Answer: "Ordaining him knowingly incurs a grave offense. If he did not know beforehand, as soon as he knows he must dismiss him. If he does not dismiss him, he commits a grave offense." Question: "Is that person on the Great Path?" Answer: "He is not."
