"On the Pramuditā-bhūmi, [one is] a king of the Cāturmahārājakāyika heaven with a hundred-jeweled necklace and a seven-jeweled mark wheel, having ten thousand sons as retinue, manifesting a hundred dharmakāyas in a hundred Buddha-lands to transform the continents of the ten directions. [On the second ground, one is] a king of the Trāyastriṃśa heaven with a thousand-jeweled necklace and an eight-jeweled mark wheel, having twenty thousand sons as retinue. [On the third ground, one is] a king of the Yāma heaven with a ten-thousand-jeweled necklace and a nine-jeweled mark wheel, whose retinue is likewise incalculable in number. [On the fourth ground, one is] a king of the Tuṣita heaven with a hundred-million-jeweled necklace and a ten-jeweled mark wheel, whose retinue is likewise incalculable in number. [On the fifth ground, one is] a king of the Nirmāṇarati heaven with a heavenly-radiant-jeweled necklace and an eleven-jeweled mark wheel, whose retinue is likewise so. [On the sixth ground, one is] a king of the Paranirmitavaśavartin heaven with a maṇi-jewel-radiant necklace and a twelve-jeweled mark wheel, whose retinue is likewise so. [On the seventh ground, one is] a king of the Brahmaloka with a thousand-hued dragon-jewel radiant-wisdom necklace and a thirteen-jeweled mark wheel, whose retinue is likewise so. [On the eighth ground, one is] a king of the Ābhāsvara heaven with a brahma-lion jewel-radiant necklace and a great-response jewel mark wheel, whose retinue is likewise so. [On the ninth ground, one is] a king of the Śubhakṛtsna heaven with an inconceivable jewel-radiant necklace and a white-cloud-radiant jewel mark wheel, whose retinue is likewise so. [On the tenth ground, one is] a king of the Śuddhāvāsa heaven with a million-supernatural-powers jewel-radiant necklace and a fearless-pearl jewel mark wheel, whose retinue is likewise so. [On the eleventh, the Stainless Ground, one is] the king of the three realms with a ten-million-heavenly-hued jewel-radiant necklace and an enlightened-virtue jewel-radiant mark wheel, having all bodhisattvas as retinue. [On the Ground of Wondrous Enlightenment, one is] the king of the dharmadhātu with an immeasurable-virtue-treasury jewel-radiant necklace and a thousand-merit mark wheel, having bodhisattvas bound to one last rebirth as retinue. O Son of the Buddha! These superior necklaces and mark wheels accompany all Buddhas and bodhisattvas wherever they go and stay, constantly following their bodies, and they also transform all sentient beings; hence there are such dharmas of names and enumerations of retribution. O Son of the Buddha! Bodhisattvas of the three worthy ranks subdue the coarse karmic paths and coarse continuous retributions of the afflictions of the three realms, and do not arouse coarse [defilements]—this is the path of seeing. The forbearance of joy subdues the karmic paths of the three destinies; the forbearance of detachment subdues the karmic paths of the human realm; the forbearance of brightness subdues the karmic paths of the six heavens; the forbearance of flaming subdues the karmic paths of various views; the forbearance of victory subdues the karmic paths of views of doubt; the forbearance of presence subdues the karmic paths of causes; the forbearance of non-arising subdues the karmic paths of effects; the forbearance of immobility subdues the karmic paths of material causes; the forbearance of radiance subdues the karmic paths of mental causes; the forbearance of cessation subdues the karmic paths of the two habitual propensities of mind and form; the forbearance of stainlessness subdues the paths of habitual effects. The habits are removed beforehand, yet the retributive effects are not undone. Therefore, O Son of the Buddha! The three worthy ranks are called 'subduing'; from the forbearance of joy upward, one both subdues and severs all afflictions. When the forbearance of enlightenment manifests, all avidyā within the dharmadhātu is completely severed without remainder.
