佛告敬首菩薩及此會十四億那由他人大眾：「汝聞上四十二賢聖因果明觀法門，一切大眾皆應發三菩提心。」如是三告：「佛子！應受、應持、應發心。」

The Buddha told Śraddhāpradāna Bodhisattva and the great assembly of one billion four hundred million nayutas of people in this gathering: "Having heard the above Dharma-gate of the luminous contemplation of cause and effect of the forty-two worthy and noble stages, the entire great assembly should all generate the mind of sambodhi." Thus he proclaimed three times: "Buddha sons! You should accept it, you should uphold it, you should generate the mind."
