目連神足默往異剎，婆破比丘神足陵虛，聲振遐邇，能攝伏外道，故稱第一。

Maudgalyāyana with his ṛddhi went silently to other lands. The monk Vāppa, using ṛddhi to soar through the void, let out a voice that shook near and far, able to subdue non-Buddhists, and therefore he is declared foremost.
