'On the pure fifteenth day,
Five hundred bhikṣus gather,
Having severed all fetters,
Rṣis who do not receive rebirth.
Just as a cakravartin
Is surrounded by all his ministers,
Over the four seas and the earth,
His domain has no bounds;
So it is that you subdue humanity,
O unsurpassed Guide,
Protecting all the śrāvakas,
Whose three knowledges destroy the nature of fetters.
All the sons of the World-Honoured One
Are free from dust and defilement;
Having broken the net of craving and desire,
Now we pay homage to the moon among stars.'
