佛告阿難：「菩薩如是為一切眾生故，難行苦行，孝養父母，身體血肉供養父母。其事如是。」
The Buddha told Ānanda: 'In this way, for the sake of all sentient beings, the bodhisattva practiced difficult and austere deeds, filially nurturing his parents, offering his own body, flesh, and blood to his parents. Such was the matter.'
