3.52

佛說此經時，有千優婆塞、優婆夷慎護口過，即得初果。復有無量比丘、比丘尼得初道果乃至四果；無量人天皆發阿耨多羅三藐三菩提心，乃至辟支佛心。一切大眾聞佛說法，歡喜奉行，作禮而去。

When the Buddha spoke this sūtra, a thousand upāsakas and upāsikās guarded against faults of the mouth and immediately attained the first fruit [of the path]. Furthermore, countless bhikṣus and bhikṣuṇīs attained the first fruit of the path up to the fourth fruit; countless humans and devas all gave rise to the mind directed toward anuttarasamyaksaṃbodhi, or even the mind of a pratyekabuddha. The entire great assembly, having heard the Buddha preach the Dharma, rejoiced, undertook its practice, bowed, and departed.
