3.54

爾時，阿難敷尼師檀。如來坐上，結加趺坐。爾時，阿難觀察眾心，問如來言：「世尊！向所見洸𡱁中虫者，先世造何業行？生此水中，為幾時耶？復於何時當得解脫？」

At that time Ānanda spread the niṣīdana. The Tathāgata sat upon it, crossing his legs in the lotus posture. At that time Ānanda, observing the minds of the assembly, asked the Tathāgata: “Bhagavat! What actions did the insect seen earlier in the filthy feces commit in its past lives? For how long has it been born in this water? And at what time will it attain liberation?”
