佛告阿難：「舍利弗者，於諸眾生為善知識，晝夜六時，常以道眼觀五道眾生，所應度者，尋往度之。

The Buddha told Ānanda: “Śāriputra is a good spiritual friend to all sentient beings. During the six periods of the day and night, he constantly observes with his eye of the path the sentient beings in the five destinies, and whenever there are those who should be saved, he promptly goes to save them.
