「爾時波羅奈國有一海師，前後數返，入於大海，善知道路，通塞之相。而年八十，兩目矇盲。
"At that time, in the kingdom of Vārāṇasī, there was a sea captain who had back and forth repeatedly entered the great sea, and knew well the routes and the signs of their passability or blockage. Yet he was eighty years old and blind in both eyes.
