佛告大王：「我亦知之。提婆達多常欲毀害，非適今也。過去世時亦常欲毀害我。我以慈悲力，乃能得濟。」
The Buddha told the great king: "I also know this. Devadatta has constantly wished to harm and destroy me; it is not just now. In past lives, he also constantly wished to harm and destroy me. By the power of compassion, I was able to be delivered."
