「王問太子：『出還何故愁憂如此？』太子具以上事向父王說。王聞是語，語太子言：『上來諸事未常不有，何足愁耶？』太子言：『今欲從王求索一願，王見聽不？』王言：『吾有汝一子，甚愛念之，不逆汝意。』太子言：『願欲得父王一切庫藏，所有財寶飲食，用施一切。』王言：『隨汝所願，不逆子意。』

"The king asked the prince: 'Why do you return from your outing in such distress?' The prince recounted in detail the above matters to his father, the king. Hearing these words, the king said to the prince: 'The matters described above have never not existed; why is this worth grieving over?' The prince said: 'I now wish to ask a boon of the king; will the king grant it?' The king said: 'I have you as my son and cherish you dearly; I will not go against your wishes.' The prince said: 'I wish to take all of my father the king's storehouses, with all their treasures, food, and drink, to bestow them upon all.' The king said: 'As you wish; I will not oppose my son's wishes.'
