6.91

答曰：「不捨。但失名、失次第，不失戒也。失優婆塞名，得沙彌名；失白衣次第，得出家次第。」

[The Buddha] replied: "He does not renounce them. He merely loses the name and loses the rank, but does not lose the precepts. He loses the name of upāsaka and obtains the name of śrāmaṇera; he loses the rank of the white-robed and obtains the rank of the gone-forth."
