2.28

"'At that time, hearing this proclamation, the people were filled with joy, as though receiving the blessing of sages. Having heard these words, they followed the sound and hastened to the great assembly at the giving platform, taking whatever they pleased—clothing, bedding, food and drink, pearls, rings, hairpins, bracelets, a hundred kinds of medicine, elephants, horses, and the seven treasures—freely choosing and taking whatever they liked. At that time, all the things given by the donor were completely taken away by the people. The donor, having felt great joy, then returned to his home. His household, wife, and children joyfully enjoyed pleasure, amusing themselves with the five desires.'
