At that time, immeasurable humans, devas, nāgas, spirits, and deities in the great assembly, having heard these words, were mingled with grief and joy, their eyes brimming with tears. With different mouths but the same voice, they praised the hundreds of thousands of merits of the Tathāgata, and instantly brought forth the mind set upon anuttarasamyaksaṃbodhi; furthermore, immeasurable hundreds of thousands of sentient beings brought forth the mind of the śrāvaka or pratyekabuddha; furthermore, immeasurable people attained the fruit of a srotāpanna up to the path of an arhat; furthermore, immeasurable hundreds of thousands of myriads of koṭis of bodhisattva-mahāsattvas would before long attain anuttarasamyaksaṃbodhi. Therefore, you should know that the Tathāgata today is truly one who is filial to and supports his parents.
