歸向門者，用如是眾命歸契於滿足大慈悲人故，如本歸最勝業遍智色無礙自在救世大悲者故。論師舉幾德讚歎大覺尊？各其相云何？頌曰：
As for the gate of taking refuge, it is because one employs these lives of sentient beings to take refuge in and unite with the One fulfilled in Great Compassion, as in the root text's taking refuge in “Him of supreme deeds and universal knowledge, whose forms are unobstructed and unhindered, the Great Compassionate One who rescues the world.” How many virtues does the treatise master cite to praise the Great Awakened Honoured One? What are their respective characteristics? A verse states:
