1.38

總八萬四千，四十八種德，
最勝等各十，智無礙各四，
及八萬四千，色相差別故，
功德雖無量，終不出此數。

In total there are eighty-four thousand
And forty-eight kinds of virtues:
‘Supreme’ and so forth each have ten,
‘Wisdom’ and ‘unobstructed’ each have four,
And eighty-four thousand
Due to the distinctions of physical marks;
Though merits are immeasurable,
They ultimately do not exceed this count.
