2.57

諸染法有力，諸淨法無力，
背本下下轉，名為下轉門。
諸淨法有力，諸染法無力，
向原上上轉，名為上轉門。

When defiled dharmas have power, and pure dharmas lack power,
Turning lower and lower, turning away from the root, it is called the gate of downward turning.
When pure dharmas have power, and defiled dharmas lack power,
Turning higher and higher toward the source, it is called the gate of upward turning.
