3.27

生住異滅相，如是四種相，
一時即前後，非漸次轉得。
一時故俱有，前後故次第，
俱故成一相，別故成四相。

The characteristics of arising, dwelling, difference, and cessation—
Such four kinds of characteristics—
Being at one time are yet before and after,
Not attained through gradual progression.
Because of being at one time, they are simultaneous;
Because of being before and after, they are sequential;
Because of being simultaneous, they form a single characteristic;
Because of being distinct, they form four characteristics.
