4.42

無明力大故，住持諸染法，
如地持四擔，故名為住地。

Because the power of avidyā is great,
It supports and upholds all defiled dharmas,
As the earth bears the four burdens;
Hence it is called 'abiding stage' (vāsabhūmi).
