4.58
如是七識從何處所來入藏識作七種數，流轉起動無斷絕時？如是七轉識，不從內來、不從外來、不從中來，唯藏識體變作七識，譬如海水變作波浪。如經：
From what place do these seven consciousnesses come to enter the storehouse consciousness to make the number of seven, flowing and turning, rising and moving without a moment of cessation? These seven transforming consciousnesses do not come from the interior, do not come from the exterior, and do not come from between; only the substance of the storehouse consciousness transforms to become the seven consciousnesses, just as ocean water transforms to become waves. As the sūtra says:
