釋摩訶衍論 7.19

7.19

已說制伏惡業不生門，次說出生善根增長門。此門為明何義？為欲顯示行者當一切三寶恭敬供養、禮拜讚歎、隨喜勸請，增長信心、消除業障，志求無上大菩提故。如本三者發起善根增長方便，謂勤供養禮拜三寶，讚歎隨喜勸請諸佛以愛敬三寶，淳厚心故信得增長，乃能志求無上之道。又因佛法僧力所護故，能消業障善根不退故。以隨順法性離癡障故者，總結其緣。

Having explained the portal of subduing evil karma so it does not arise, next is explained the portal of giving rise to wholesome roots and causing them to increase. What meaning does this portal clarify? It is intended to show that the practitioner should reverently make offerings to all the Three Jewels, pay homage, praise, rejoice, and entreat [the Buddhas], increasing faith, eliminating karmic obstacles, and aspiring to supreme great bodhi. Thus the original [text] states: 'Third, the skillful means of giving rise to wholesome roots and causing them to increase, which means diligently making offerings and paying homage to the Three Jewels, praising, rejoicing, and entreating all Buddhas; because of a sincere and deep mind of love and respect for the Three Jewels, faith can increase, and one is then able to aspire to the supreme path. Furthermore, because of being protected by the power of the Buddha, Dharma, and Saṅgha, one is able to eliminate karmic obstacles and cause wholesome roots not to retrogress.' As for 'because of according with the nature of dharmas and being free from the obstruction of delusion,' this summarizes its conditions.
