3.40

經曰：謂一切貪欲本性清淨極照明故能令世間嗔恚清淨，一切嗔恚本性清淨極照明故能令世間愚癡清淨，一切愚癡本性清淨極照明故能令世間疑惑清淨，一切疑惑本性清淨極照明故能令世間見趣清淨，一切見趣本性清淨極照明故能令世間憍慢清淨。

The Sūtra says: "Namely, because the purity of intrinsic nature of all greed extremely illuminates, it can cause anger in the world to become pure; because the purity of intrinsic nature of all anger extremely illuminates, it can cause delusion in the world to become pure; because the purity of intrinsic nature of all delusion extremely illuminates, it can cause doubt in the world to become pure; because the purity of intrinsic nature of all doubt extremely illuminates, it can cause view-tendencies in the world to become pure; because the purity of intrinsic nature of all view-tendencies extremely illuminates, it can cause conceit in the world to become pure.
