3.222

The sūtra says: "If types of sentient beings accept and uphold this sūtra, for many koṭis of kalpas they will attain knowledge of past lives, constantly and diligently make energetic efforts to cultivate all wholesome dharmas, evil māras and non-Buddhists will be unable to detain them, the Four Great Heavenly Kings and other hosts of devas will constantly follow and protect them without leaving them even for a moment, they will never die an untimely death or unjustly suffer decline and distress, all buddhas and bodhisattvas will constantly protect and support them together, causing at all times good to increase and evil to decrease, they will be reborn according to their vows in the Buddha lands, and until awakening will not fall into the unfortunate destinies."
