無著釋云，自此已下是第十七為入證道故，又即八種住處中第五為淨心住處故，謂上來十六差別，四住處是信行地，地前凡夫一僧祇修；此為淨心地，十地菩薩修也。於中初顯示入證道時得智慧，故「菩薩亦如是」下，明離慢，此初也。

Asaṅga explains: From here onward is the seventeenth [point], for entering the path of realization; it is also the fifth, the ādhāra of pure mind, among the eight kinds of ādhāras. That is, the sixteen distinctions and four ādhāras above belong to the stage of practice with faith, cultivated by ordinary beings before the bhūmis for one asaṃkhyeya [kalpa]; this is the stage of pure mind, cultivated by bodhisattvas of the ten bhūmis. Within it, first is demonstrating the wisdom attained upon entering the path of realization; hence, from 'a bodhisattva is also like this' onward, it clarifies being free from conceit. This is the first.
