Asaṅga states: Above, the analogies of a person's body being wonderful and great demonstrated the entry into the path of realization; here, the second part clarifies the freedom from pride. That is, before the bhūmis, one says, "I am capable of cultivating," and so forth, which obstructs the non-abiding path; after entering the bhūmis, one realizes and penetrates the equality of the two emptinesses of the dharmadhātu, and the conceptual differentiations of self and dharma are entirely eliminated, forever devoid of the pride of "I am capable"—hence it is called freedom from pride. The commentary says: "If a bodhisattva has the notion of sentient beings, then they do not attain the wonderful body or the great body;" "among these, the wonderful body means achieving the attainment of the body, because the body attains the ultimate transformation of the basis; the great body means the body that gathers the bodies of all sentient beings." The master says: Transformation of the basis refers to the bodhi and nirvāṇa that are attained.
