Asaṅga states: From here downward, all seek the Buddha bhūmi. That is, from here downward to the end of the sūtra, among the distinctions it is the eighteenth; among the abodes it is the sixth, the ultimate abode; among the three bhūmis it is the third, the Buddha bhūmi. Within it there are six: first, the endowment of the purity of the realm, as in the sūtra's "If a bodhisattva should say, 'I shall adorn...'" and so forth; second, the endowment of unsurpassed vision and wisdom, as in the sūtra's "Does the Tathāgata have the physical eye?" and so forth; third, the endowment of the body with minor marks, as in the sūtra's "Can the Buddha be seen by means of the endowment of the physical body?"; fourth, the endowment of the body with major marks, as in the sūtra's "Can the Tathāgata be seen by means of the endowment of all marks?"; fifth, the endowment of speech, as in the sūtra's "You should not say that the Tathāgata has this thought..." and so forth; sixth, the endowment of mind, as in the sūtra's "Could there be sentient beings in future ages..." and so forth; this is the first.
