無著云，彼非眾生者，第一義故；非不眾生者，世諦故；眾生、眾生者，顯示說第一義，是不共及相應故。
Asaṅga says: they are not sentient beings because of the ultimate truth (paramārtha); they are not non-sentient beings because of conventional truth (saṃvṛtisatya); 'sentient beings, sentient beings' reveals the teaching of the ultimate truth, because of non-commonality and conformity.
