2.291

述曰，此第三釋所以也。謂諸菩薩知因知果，去離斷常，但無所執實福德因及果，非無因緣假因果也，但遮作用緣，非無功能緣故。

The commentary states: This is the third [part], explaining the reason. That is, the bodhisattvas know causes and know fruits, leaving behind annihilation and permanence; they merely lack an imagined real cause and fruit of merit, but are not without the provisional cause and fruit of conditionality, because this merely excludes the condition as an agent, yet does not deny the condition as functional capacity.
