或前為初、機利機，後、為後機鈍機也。就此之中，初、當宗正明，次、於「燃燈佛」下，廣釋眾疑。初中有二，初、善現為問，次、如來為答，此初也。

Alternatively, the former was for initial capacities and sharp capacities, while the latter is for subsequent capacities and dull capacities. Within this, first, the doctrine itself is directly elucidated; second, below 'Dīpaṃkara Buddha', various doubts are extensively resolved. In the first part there are two: first, Subhūti poses the question; second, the Tathāgata provides the answer. This is the first.
