Commentary: Vasubandhu says: from here down, the second part explains the reasons, within which there are six points. First, it displays the Dharma that is rarely heard yet capable of generating faith, meaning that those of great capacity can enter while those of small capacity cannot, as in the sūtra passage: 'in brief,' and so forth. Second, it displays the receiving and upholding of the true, sublime Dharma, meaning that receiving and upholding the sublime Dharma is just shouldering bodhi, as in the sūtra passage: 'such persons,' and so forth. Third, it displays that such persons are certain to accomplish immeasurable merit, meaning that wherever this sūtra is located, it is worthy of veneration, as in the sūtra passage: 'wherever,' and so forth. Fourth, it displays being far removed from all obstacles, meaning the overturning of obstacles, as in the sūtra passage: 'if someone who receives, upholds, reads, and recites this sūtra is despised by others,' and so forth. Fifth, it clarifies the swift realization of the Buddha's Dharma of bodhi, as in the sūtra passage: 'if another person in the final era,' and so forth. Sixth, it displays the accomplishment of various powers to attain the great, sublime fruit, meaning that it clarifies the mighty power of the sūtra, as in the sūtra passage: 'a good woman in the final era,' and so forth.
