Beside the fleshly eye, the pure divine eye is brought forth to see forms beyond obstructions. According to the Great Prajñā: "The Buddha's fleshly eye can see countless worlds among humans, not only within obstructions. But the Buddha's divine eye can see all the subtle forms of the devas; aside from seeing the devas, seeing the affairs of humans and so forth is called the fleshly eye." The Vimalakīrtinirdeśa says: "Only the Buddha, the World-Honoured One, has attained the true divine eye, illuminating and seeing Buddha lands as numerous as the sands of the Ganges without dual characteristics."
