The verse says: "Coming and going is the nirmāṇakāya Buddha; / The Tathāgata is eternally unmoving." Dayun says: "If the water of sentient beings' minds is pure, then they see the Buddha come, yet his coming has no origin; if it is turbid, they see him demonstrate extinction between the twin trees, and thus say the Buddha goes, yet his going has nowhere to reach." [Seng]zhao says: "His understanding is consummate and accords with suchness; his essence has no spatial location. When conditions arrive, he manifests to beings, coming from nowhere; when responsiveness ends, he conceals himself, and to where would he go?"
