以戒為師者。從其軌範，但依戒律作止分明。故《菩薩戒序》云：「波羅提木叉者是汝大師，如來在日無異此也。」

Taking the precepts as teacher: One follows their standard; merely relying on the Vinaya, one clearly distinguishes what is to be done and what avoided. Therefore, the Preface to the Bodhisattva Precepts states: 'The prātimokṣa is your great teacher; it is no different from when the Tathāgata was in the world.'
