The meeting together of master and disciple: That is to say, the speaker who teaches others with morality and virtue is called 'master'; 'disciple' (zi) means to receive—receiving the master's teaching and putting it into practice. The Buddha and the great assembly having speaker and listener complete is called 'meeting together.' Preaching being finished and listening being finished is called 'culmination.' The intention takes the preaching as not being at different sessions, running through from beginning to end; hence it is called 'at one time.' The Buddhabhūmi-śāstra states: 'This refers to the culmination of preaching and listening without interruption in kṣaṇa succession, collectively named "at one time."' The phrase 'at one time' was spoken by the Buddha himself. Therefore the Nirvāṇa states: 'Formerly, at one time the Buddha was in the Corpse Grove.' It also states: 'At one time I was in the country of Kāśi.' This clearly shows that all—speaker and listener, subject and object—were completely fulfilled.
