諸方下。揀時也。不同有二。謂橫則參差不同，豎則延促不同。延促不同如人間五十年，四天王天一晝夜，上上倍增。故參差不同者。如《俱舍》云：「夜半日沒中，日出四洲等」，既然，云何定言寅卯辰已日月等耶？

"From all directions" and so forth distinguishes the time. Discrepancies are of two kinds: horizontally, they are uneven and diverse; vertically, they differ in duration. Differing in duration is like fifty human years being one day and night in the Heaven of the Four Great Kings, with each higher heaven doubling [the previous]. As for being uneven and diverse: as the Abhidharmakośa says, "When it is midnight [here], it is sunset [there], noon [elsewhere], / and sunrise in the four continents respectively." Since this is so, how could one fix the time specifically as the hours of the tiger, hare, dragon, or snake, or as a specific month or day?
