"Mind is completely extinguished": because when hearing the Dharma no deluded thoughts arise, and since the mind does not arise, objective conditions are not produced. Mind and objects are both obliterated, hence it is said to be "extinguished." That is, one cannot listen to the teaching of dharmatā with a mind-activity of arising and ceasing; this applies generally to [both] paratantra and parikalpita, so both are extinguished. This constitutes the pair of defiled mind and worldly objects.
