舍衛亦云舍婆提，新云室羅伐悉底，此但梵音楚夏耳。此城在中印土憍薩羅國，緣南天亦有憍薩羅國，恐濫彼國故，以城為國名。聞物者，謂名聞勝德、珍奇寶物多出此國。

Śrāvastī is also called Shepoti, and recently Śrāvastī; these are merely different Sanskrit pronunciations from Chu and Xia. This city is in the kingdom of Kośala in Central India. Because there is also a kingdom of Kośala in South India, for fear of confusing it with that kingdom, the city is used as the name of the kingdom. "Heard things" means that famous and superior virtues, as well as rare and precious objects, mostly come from this kingdom.
