然須達是主、祇陀助成，今樹先園後者，以太子是儲君，須達是臣佐，禮別尊卑故爾。真諦記說住處有二：一境界處。即舍衛也，為化俗故。二依止處。即祇園也，為統出家人故。又《善見婆沙》云：「舉舍衛令遠人知，舉祇園令近人知，故雙舉也。」

Now Sudatta was the principal and Jeta was the assistant. That the grove comes first and the park second here is because the prince is the heir apparent while Sudatta is a minister; etiquette distinguishes the noble from the base, hence it is so. Paramārtha's notes explain that the dwelling place is twofold: first, the domain-place, which is Śrāvastī, for converting the worldly; second, the reliance-place, which is Jeta's Grove, for directing the renunciants. Furthermore, the Samantapāsādikā says: "Mentioning Śrāvastī informs people far away; mentioning Jeta's Grove informs people nearby; hence both are mentioned together."
