影像相者，謂色心等法，是法界中之影像，亦可是業識之影像。離破下。所離障。無巧便者，由無善巧方便，不能破此影像，乃名為障。若有巧便破之，則成其住也。巧便之相，彰在次文。

"Shadowy image marks" means that dharmas such as form and mind are shadowy images within the dharmadhātu, and can also be the shadowy images of the karmic consciousness. From "Abandoning the destruction..." down: the hindrance to be abandoned. "Lacking skillful means": due to lacking skillful means, one cannot destroy these shadowy images, which is then named a hindrance. If one has skillful means to destroy them, one accomplishes the abiding. The characteristics of skillful means are displayed in the following text.
