三皆下。皆上句是覺，下句是有情。然此三義之中，初約悲智，次約真妄，三約人法。菩薩之義不踰此三，未必寶冠天衣方是菩薩。

On "all three": in all cases the upper phrase is awakening and the lower phrase is sentient being. Yet among these three meanings: the first is in terms of compassion and wisdom; the next is in terms of the real and the delusive; the third is in terms of person and Dharma. The meaning of bodhisattva does not exceed these three; it is not necessarily that one must wear a jeweled crown and heavenly garments to be a bodhisattva.
