The intention of the question can be known. In the explanation: 'A self' means clinging to the general characteristic of one's own five aggregates as a self. 'A person' means conceiving that when I die, I am born in heaven, and when I die in heaven, I become an animal, and so forth. In Sanskrit, pudgala; here translated as 'continually taking rebirth in destinies' (shuququ), which is precisely a person. 'A sentient being' means conceiving that a multiplicity of phenomena continuously arise for me. 'A soul' is also called 'lifespan' (āyus), conceiving that my lifetime's lifespan is never cut off. However, the self is the overarching subject, while 'person' and so forth are distinct aspects; subsuming the distinct under the general, it is called 'clinging to a self'; hence in all three it says 'conceiving that I…' and so forth. Still, although these four characteristics are not [spelled out] in the sūtra, one must not fail to understand them.
