"Dharmadhātu": the one true dharmadhātu is equal and without distinctions. How could one perceive marks of self and other within it? Hence the verse says: 'In the equal, true dharmadhātu, / the Buddha liberates no sentient beings.' These above five meanings are the text of Dayun. However, among them, the first and third concern the object; the second concerns both subject and object; the fourth concerns only the subject; and the fifth encompasses both root and branch. The general intention is: if one sees sentient beings as something to be liberated, weariness arises and one cannot liberate them perpetually; reversing this is 'perpetual'. Furthermore, whether liberating or not liberating, one's mind is non-dual, which is termed 'perpetual'. Hence the Vajrasamādhi Sūtra states: 'If in transforming sentient beings, one gives rise neither to transformation nor to non-transformation, that transformation is immense.'
