5.147

三種苦者。前二即次文，後一即當第十疑中心住於法行布施等是也。意明住相行施墮有漏中，受用欲樂疲乏生苦也。亦可有漏有限，有限故乏受用，乏受用故生於苦也。然今依天親科經，故不收入此段。前二文理相似，故全用之。

"The three kinds of suffering": The first two are in the subsequent passage; the last one corresponds to the tenth doubt, concerning the mind abiding in dharmas while practicing giving, etc. The intention is to clarify that practicing giving while abiding in characteristics falls into the contaminated realm, where enjoying sensory pleasures leads to exhaustion and generates suffering. Alternatively, what is contaminated is limited; because it is limited, enjoyment is deficient; and because enjoyment is deficient, suffering arises. However, now following Vasubandhu's outline of the sūtra, it is not included in this section. Since the meaning and phrasing of the first two are similar, they are fully adopted.
