若無菩薩者。指疑起處。即從次前文中來也。以前云無發心者，發心者即是菩薩故。

"If there is no bodhisattva": pointing to the origin of the doubt. This comes from the immediately preceding text, because it previously said that there is no one who gives rise to the mind, and one who gives rise to the mind is precisely a bodhisattva.
