無著下。挾來義解。以真如通於凡聖，眾生垢染但名如去，佛位清淨名曰如來。如序中滿淨義及第三疑中具足清淨義也。

"Asaṅga..." and so forth explains by bringing in the meaning of [tathatā]. Because tathatā pervades both ordinary beings and nobles, when defiled by sentient beings' defilements it is merely called "thus-gone" (tathā-gata), whereas the purity of the Buddha stage is called "thus-come" (tathāgata). This is like the meaning of complete purity in the preface and the meaning of endowed purity in the third doubt.
