根本者。能生後得故，亦名正體智。真智如理智，以能照真故名慧眼也。

"Fundamental": because it can generate the subsequent [cognition], it is also called the non-conceptual fundamental wisdom. True wisdom is wisdom as it is in principle; because it can illuminate the true, it is named the wisdom eye.
