初、文見分者，雲云第六識也。計度分別緣共相境，世間諸智盡在其中，故以星光況於此識。此約執計強盛，故獨指第六，非不通八也。

In the first text, "perceiving aspect": it refers to the sixth consciousness. Conceptualizing and differentiating, it takes the object of common characteristics as its condition; all worldly wisdom is contained within it, so the light of a star is used to compare with this consciousness. This is in terms of strong grasping and conceptualization, so it uniquely points to the sixth, though it is not that it does not apply to all eight.
