符破相宗者。歎前四喻也。然佛一代教門，就大乘中宗塗有三：一、法相宗，謂《解深密》等經，《瑜珈》、《唯識》等論。二、破相宗，謂《般若》等經，《中》、《百》、《門》等論。三、法性宗，謂《法華》、《涅槃》等經，《起信》、《寶性》等論。既般若宗於破相，今說有為，喻以夢幻泡影，則妙符宗旨也。

"Accords with the school of destroying characteristics": this praises the first four analogies. Throughout the Buddha's lifetime of teachings, within the Mahāyāna there are three doctrinal approaches: first, the School of Dharma Characteristics (Dharmalakṣaṇa), referring to sūtras like the Saṃdhinirmocana and treatises like the Yogācārabhūmi and Vijñaptimātratā; second, the School of Destroying Characteristics, referring to sūtras like the Prajñāpāramitā and treatises like the Madhyamakaśāstra, Śataśāstra, and Dvādaśanikāyaśāstra; third, the School of Dharmatā, referring to sūtras like the Lotus and Mahāparinirvāṇa, and treatises like the Awakening of Faith and Ratnagotravibhāga. Since the Prajñā doctrine is centered on destroying characteristics, here preaching saṃskṛta phenomena by analogizing them to dreams, illusions, bubbles, and shadows wonderfully accords with its fundamental tenet.
